Hi, we're the Laberdees — and welcome to our little corner of Columbus.
Market Blooms has been a beloved neighborhood staple since 1990, and becoming its new owners has been the greatest honor of our lives. Morgan's journey here started long before she ever imagined owning a flower shop — it began alongside her mom at fundraisers, grew through years of event planning and creative agency work, and deepened through shifts at local flower shops where her love for blooms truly took root. When the chance to carry this legacy forward came our way, every single chapter of our story made sense at once.
On January 3rd, 2026 — the morning we became official owners — our daughter June was born. We named her June — our little June Bug — and her arrival on that same extraordinary morning felt like the universe's way of telling us we were exactly where we were supposed to be. She is woven into the very heart of this brand, a living reminder that Market Blooms has always been about more than flowers. It has always been about family, community, and the people who make a place feel like home.
This is our family legacy. Our husband-and-wife adventure. Our community commitment. And we are pouring every bit of ourselves into it — for Columbus, for North Market, for Marty's incredible foundation, and for every person who walks through these doors.

The story of Market Blooms begins long before us — it begins with Marty.
Long before we ever dreamed of owning a flower shop, Marty was here. She opened these doors in 1990 with a simple mission and spent the next thirty-plus years turning it into something Columbus truly claimed as its own. She built a team that stayed, a community that showed up, and a shop that became as much a part of North Market Downtown as the building itself. Two of her beloved team members have been by her side for over twenty years — and we are so grateful they chose to stay by ours.
When Morgan met Marty, it felt like meeting someone she had always known. Fellow OU graduates, deeply hardworking, and women who believe that family comes first in everything — the trust between them was built quickly and genuinely. Marty didn't hand over a business. She handed over her heart's work, her people, and her name — and she did it with such grace and generosity that we are still in awe of her.
We kept the name she made beloved. We built a brand that honors everything she stood for. And every single day, we show up to these doors with the same love for this community that she modeled for thirty years.

Market Blooms is a Columbus original — a full-service neighborhood flower shop rooted in the heart of North Market Downtown and built on the simple belief that fresh, beautiful blooms belong in everyday life. What started as buckets of flowers at the front door grew into something none of us could have anticipated — a true landmark, woven into the fabric of this city and the celebrations of the people in it. The faces have grown. The offerings have expanded. The flowers now travel from local farms, national growers, and international sources to find their way into our studio. But the mission that opened these doors in 1990 is the same one that greets you today.
Inside our shop, you'll find fresh daily arrangements, floral subscriptions, custom event and wedding florals, and our beloved Artisan Collection — a lovingly curated gathering of
handcrafted candles, home décor, boutique greeting cards, and one-of-a-kind finds from local makers we genuinely admire. We are a family-owned shop, open every single day, and everything that leaves our hands is arranged and selected with intention — for the neighbors who have been coming through these doors for decades, and for the ones we haven't met yet.
We love everything North Market stands for — the small businesses, the makers, the belief that local always matters. We are so grateful to be part of it, and so honored to carry something this meaningful into its next season.
